This lot has been produced by Luís and Carliane on their farm, Sitio Penha in Minas Gerais.

Luís and Carliane are a young couple working together on Sítio Penha. Their farm is situated in Nova Resende, a town known for producing top-tier coffee. They view coffee cultivation as a rewarding, engaging, and passionately driven activity.

Both Luís and Carliane come from families with a rich coffee-growing history. Yet, they sensed a need for a distinctive approach in their production—something that would set them apart in the market and bring them more recognition. While Luís once envisioned a career in mechanics, he made the decision at 17 to devote himself to coffee cultivation. By 18, he had planted his first seedlings.

In 2012, Luís and Carliane got married. Together, they got into the study of new coffee cultivation techniques, striving to refine their processes, crop management, and infrastructure to deliver specialty coffees.

The producers became members of Cooxupé, and in 2021, their coffees were recognized through Especialíssimo, a program established by SMC Specialty Coffees in collaboration with the cooperative. This initiative identifies the finest coffees supplied by cooperative-affiliated families.

The small farm is simple and well-kept, with a spacious paved patio that receives the batches of coffees harvested at their ideal ripeness. The couple is responsible for harvesting, drying, and storing the beans. Production amounts to around 400 bags per year and all the coffees are processed as naturals.
